High-School

Our Curriculum Poornapraja Education Centre, High School, is recognized by the Government of Karnataka as an unaided institution, meaning it receives no financial assistance from the government. Our medium of instruction is English, and we follow the state board syllabus prescribed by the Department of Public Instruction.

Subjects Offered Our comprehensive curriculum includes subjects such as General Science, General Maths, Social Science, 1st Language (Sanskrit/Kannada), 2nd Language (English), and 3rd Language (Kannada/Hindi). Students in 8th, 9th, and 10th standard use textbooks prepared in accordance with NCERT norms. To enrich their learning experience, we conduct activities suggested in these textbooks and NCERT books.

State-of-the-Art Facilities Our school is equipped with modern facilities to enhance the educational experience. We have digital boards in all classrooms, separate Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories, a Mathematics lab, a Computer lab, a Vocational & Carpentry training center, and a Work Experience section to cater to various student needs.

Club Activities Throughout the year, we organize various club activities, including those focused on subjects like Astro Physics, Science, Humanities, Music, Philately, Interact, language, Dramatics, and Art, fostering students’ interests and talents.

Competitions and Exhibitions To encourage healthy competition and enhance creativity, we conduct a range of competitions, including the National Talent Search Exam (NTSE), All India General Knowledge Exam, UN information test, Science, Maths, English, and Astrophysics Olympiads. We also host exhibitions in Science, Humanities, and Philately. Students actively participate in inter-school sports and cultural competitions.

Educational Field Trips To provide firsthand experiences, we organize visits to museums, scientific research centers, and laboratories, enriching students’ learning journeys.

Equal Opportunities We believe in equal opportunities for academics, sports, fine arts, and more. Certified coaches train students in various sports, including Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Throw Ball, and Chess. Co-curricular activities are conducted throughout the year to foster overall development.

Chemistry Laboratory Equipped with state-of-the-art apparatus, our Chemistry lab makes the subject engaging and easy to learn, nurturing scientific curiosity.

Biology Laboratory Our biology lab offers preserved specimens, slides, models, and bio-visual charts to develop a scientific temperament and encourage hands-on experiments.

Mathematics Laboratory The math lab is designed to make math enjoyable and fosters informal exploration, encouraging students to generate and solve problems.

Physics Laboratory Our spacious Physics lab helps students bridge the gap between theory and application, enhancing their understanding of the subject.

Computer Laboratory With internet access, our computer lab accommodates 50 students at a time and is utilized for teaching computer skills by qualified instructors.

Library Our well-equipped library ensures equitable access to books, reading materials, and technology, serving as a hub for learning.

Work Experience This program helps students develop skills like knitting, cooking, tailoring, painting, and sketching while encouraging community thinking and scientific awareness.

Music Club The music room is equipped with various instruments, fostering musical talent and expression.

Philately Club Our Philately club promotes the hobby of stamp collection and educates students about history through rare stamps.

Vocational Training Introduced for class 8th and 9th students, vocational training prepares them for specific careers in fields like plumbing, welding, carpentry, and small engine repair.

Playground Our vast school playground promotes physical health, cognitive development, and social skills among students, providing a variety of activities to accommodate different needs.
