Mrs. Sangeetha Bhat
We all are chalk and talk teachers but this pandemic has made us forcefully a techteacher. As the world battles the novel corona virus, virtual classrooms have ensured that learning continues. Several educational institutes have switched to online platform to conduct classes and digital learning is being touted as the future of education.
When I first thought about teaching online, I had cursed the situation which made me restless and pushed me to sleepless nights. We are fortunate that our Management gave us coaching on online teaching. That boosted my confidence. This made me realise that I had a lot to learn. I had never attended an online class. So I did not know much about distance education. I just felt like I wanted to be a part of something that would benefit our students.
It took a great deal of time for the preparation of video whose duration was less than 12 minutes. After several retakes when I uploaded my first video our Principal Madam, after watching it, appreciated me and gave me an award. It was a proud moment for me.
As teachers, we quickly adapt to any kind of situation and we make sure that our students continue learning. I am very grateful to our Management and Principal who have motivated and guided us during these tough times.
