General Information Affiliation and Curriculum

Poornaprajna Education Centre functions in accordance with the norms and guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

• The curriculum is designed to meet CBSE standards while also incorporating value-based education.
• Continuous assessments, examinations, and teaching practices are followed as per CBSE requirements.
• Academic planning, evaluation, and certification strictly adhere to CBSE rules.
• This ensures that our students receive education that is nationally recognized, academically strong, and aligned with the holistic vision of the school.
• Through this balanced approach, we aspire to nurture students who are disciplined, value-oriented, and prepared for life with wisdom and compassion.

1. Medium of Instruction & Language Options

• English is the medium of instruction.
• I Language – English
• II Language (Grades 1-10) – Kannada
• III Language (Grades 1-4) – Hindi (compulsory)
• IV Language (Grade 1-4) – Communicative Samskrit (compulsory).
• For Grades 5-8: Student has choice between Hindi or Samskrit as III Language.
• In Grades 9 & 10 : Kannada will be the only II Language.

2. Cultural and Spiritual Practices
   • Shloka Chanting and Geetha Parayana are conducted daily during assembly.
   • These practices are considered essential for building values, discipline, and spiritual growth.
3. Clubs and Co-Curricular Activities
   • Students have access to a wide range of club activities.
   • Vocational Training (for Grades 5 to 10) and Work Experience (for Grades 4 to 10) classes are compulsory for all students. These programs are designed to equip

learners with practical skills, self-reliance, and a sense of responsibility towards work and society.

• The school provides a wide range of extracurricular activities to encourage holistic development and creativity in students:

• Vocal Music – from Kindergarten to Grade 9
• Instrumental Music – for Grades 5 to 8
• Yoga – for Grades 3 to 7
• Kalaripayattu (traditional martial art) – for Grades 6 to 10

These activities are aimed at nurturing talent, promoting physical and mental well-being, and preserving cultural heritage.

• To instil discipline, responsibility, and a spirit of service among our students, the school offers the following programs:

Cubs – for boys of Grades 3 and 4            Bulbul – for girls of Grades 3 and 4

Scouts – for boys of Grades 5 to 7           Guides – for girls of Grades 5 to 7

4. Sports and Activities
   • Students must actively participate in sports, field trips, and all extracurricular activities organized by the school.
   • Participation is considered a mandatory part of holistic education.
5. Traditional Learning Approach
   • The school follows a traditional method of teaching enriched with cultural and moral values, while also ensuring academic excellence.

6. Plastic-Free and Vegetarian Campus

• The school is declared a Plastic-Free Zone. Students, staff, and parents are strictly instructed not to bring or use any plastic items within the school premises. Eco-friendly alternatives must be used at all times.
• The school also maintains a Strictly Vegetarian Policy in alignment with the spiritual values of Adamaru Matha, Udupi.
• Students are not allowed to bring or consume any non-vegetarian food or junk food on campus.These practices are integral to maintaining the sanctity, discipline and value-based environment of the school.
